Hello people of Science Faculty, I am Xin Wei and I am the Vice President (Internal Affairs) of the 28th Science Club Management Committee. I am a Year 1 Chemistry Major and Maths Minor. I joined SCMC because I wanted have a taste of life doing management level work, and it really makes me happy to be able to see all your projects being conducted smoothly and the smiles of satisfaction on the faces of the participants of these events indicates that the hard work of my fellow SCMC members and myself has not gone to waste.
 

    A little about myself. I am from Dunman High School, then proceeded on to Temasek Junior College, followed by Army where I was the Ops Officer of Army Logistics Training Institute and finally I am back studying in NUS. I am into Triathlon and Ironman. Well, to many, these 2 sports might seem extreme and undoable. Initially, I had the same thoughts too but after trying out my 1st NUS Biathlon in 2006, I was hooked onto this sport and I went on to complete the NUS Triathlon 2006, OSIM Triathlon 2006, Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2006, Great Eastern Pacesetters 30km 2007 (Kuala Lumpur), Oakley City Duathlon 2007 and I attempted the Langkawi Ironman Triathlon in February 2007 but withdrew 21km from the finishing line as I suffered from severe cramps. I would definitely encourage everyone, regardless of age to give these sports a try as in the end, it is not about the timing that you complete, but the endurance, determination, fighting spirit and discipline that you would have imbued in yourself while training for such events.
 

    For my term in the SCMC, I hope to bring about bigger events to the students of Science Faculty as well as the rest of NUS. Upcoming events would include SWEAT! Camp by Sports Committee, Charity Run by the Science Volunteer Corps. Of course, we are currently planning on more exciting events at the Students' Hub! Expect billiard competition next semester, together with performances by Quarter Finalists from TalentQuest. 
 

    Hope you guys will have an enjoyable time in Science Faculty under the 28th SCMC!
