| 28th Science Club Management Committee | |

I am
Jonathan Yew the Vice President (Freshmen Orientation Projects) of 28th
Science Club Management Committee. I am currently a year 1 Life Science
Major. Gregarious, vocal, cheerful and fun-loving are a few adjectives
that my friends and I would use to describe myself. I was from Pioneer
Junior College and I participated in a myriad of activities to have an
enriching student life. I was from band and I play the saxophone,
particularly Alto Sax and Soprano Sax, and I enjoy singing too. I
personally feel that this could be our very last lap of academic life
that we would be able to spend with the rest of our friends; therefore,
I would want the make the schooling experience a wonderful and enriching
one for my friends and school mates.
I took up this position solely because I would want to make an impact
not just on the lives of the freshmen but also the lives of the Science
community. I believe that I would want to put the skills that I have
acquired from my previous leadership stints into good use – bringing
Science Club organized students activities to greater heights.
Freshmen Orientation Projects are an important component of the life of
freshmen as they will not only orientate them to the system and
landscape of NUS, but also generate a platform for freshmen to forge
bonds with other freshmen and seniors, last but not least, to welcome
them to this big new family! There are five Freshmen Orientation
Projects under my purview. They are namely: Science Camp (SCAMP),
Science Orientation Week (SOW), Rag, Flag and Dinner and Dance. These
are the various projects that we offer for freshmen to participate and
immerse themselves into this rich Science Faculty culture. |
