Freshmen Orientation Projects

VPFOP – Brenda Chai

I'm the Vice-President for Freshmen Orientation Projects! My main job is to oversee and coordinate the 5 FOPs, namely SCAMP, SOW, Flag, Rag and D&D! I also head the Freshmen Orientation Projects Central Committee (FOPCC) together with the FOPAC! Together, we liaise with the Dean's Office for all the orientation and freshmen welcome activities! We do organize festival celebrations in Science from time to time as well!

You're welcome to join us, either as a committee member, a senior, or even a freshman - you can make FOP better! Do say hi to me at sciclub.vpfop@science.nus.edu.sg if you want to find out more about FOP or my job!

FOPAC – Joyce Tay

As the Freshmen Orientation Projects Assistant Chairperson (FOPAC), I liaise with the NUS Students' Union for the NUS Open House in March and Matriculation Fair in July.  I also work with the Science Dean's Office for the Science Open House in May. In addition, I help the VPFOP look after the 5 orientation projects that Science Club organizes, namely SCAMP, SOW , Flag, RAG and D&D, and make sure that each orientation project will be a blast for you freshmen! :)

SCAMP

SCIENCE ORIENTATION CAMP.

Have great fun during Station Games! Wet and Dirty games and Beach games. Defending your House during War Zone!

These are some of the stuff that awaits you during SCAMP 2009/2010. Not to mention other activities such as Secret Pal and Club Scene! This will be the place where you forge great memories and reach out to know friends from all over Singapore who are freshmen just like you! Not to worry as you will be having excited seniors who are eagerly waiting your arrival.

LOADS OF LAUGHTER. TONS OF FUN. BE PART OF IT.

SOW

Coming Soon!

FLAG

Apart from being involved in Flag Day, the Flag committee also organizes other events to help charity.
I believe that being in the flag committee, not only will you be able to help others,
but you will also be able to forge new friendships.
So what are you waiting for now, join the Flag Committee and let us all enjoy this experience together!

RAG

Every year during Rag and Flag day we pay tribute to the many donors who contributed to Flag. On that day, the toils and dedication of an entire faculty is showcased through a performance involving large scale props emphasized with mechanisms and costumes flaunted through dance.
People always ask me: is the trade off worth the sacrifice? I always answer: for the friends and memories, YES.
I am a strong believer that one should not always be about the finale, RAG is more about the GETTING to the end then actually the ending itself.
Every Rag has a story to tell. Join RAG, write yours.

Dinner and Dance

D&D is the last event of the FOP season and it aims to wrap up the entire FOP season with a BANG before everyone starts school! On top of that, it is our way of showing our appreciation to everyone involved in FOP and Science Club events.

It is the most anticipated event of the year as it is the time where everyone gets to doll up to the nines and take glam and pretty shots of themselves. It is also the time where you get to meet up with friends made in SCAMP, SOW, Rag and Flag.

Aside from that, get ready to watch our potential nominees for Science’s King and Queen strut their stuff down the runway during the annual Manhunt and Pageant Preview as well as on Dinner and Dance itself! It is definitely an event that you will not want to miss before school starts.

So let’s all come together to reminisce those days and ensure that they will always remain in our memories in years to come.
